Geosynthetics can act as a drain to carry fluid through less permeable soils. Ideal for use in subsoil drainage systems, can be used to dissipate pore water pressures at the base of road and railway embankments, sports fields and behind retaining walls. Facilitates surface water runoff.
Bidim® Green is a premium non-woven geotextile made with a combination of recycled PET and virgin plastic material, designed to provide an effective and economic solution for a multitude of engineering applications.
WHY CHOOSE BIDIM GREEN?
In infrastructure development projects such as road, rail and mining, Bidim Green offers excellent filtration, separation and drainage properties. While in waste & containment, Bidim Green can assist with soil migration and protection of critical liquid and gas barrier materials in landfill lining and capping applications. Bidim Green provides:
- Excellent performance in filtration, separation, drainage and protection applications
- Reduced need for quarried fill materials and reduced construction times
- A strong three-dimensional structure with high elongation and equal biaxial strength properties in both directions
Bidim Green is designed to meet the requirements of Australian & New Zealand road and rail authorities and is manufactured in Australia in a facility certified to ISO9001:2015 standards.
Applications
Ground & Pavement Stabilisation
Nearly every road built today uses a non-woven geotextile such as Bidim Green, to provide separation and filtration under the road formation. The ingress of water into road pavements poses the most significant damage potential to any road; therefore rapid removal of this water can reduce long-term damage and maintenance costs. It also separates soft ground from fill material to prevent and control mitigation of fines into fill material.
Bidim Green is the only bi-dimensional geotextile on the market today – meaning it has the same strength properties in both directions.
Subsoil Drainage
Standard road construction practice requires the inclusion of road edge drainage systems which incorporate geotextiles; in order to optimise the performance of these drains a geotextile with high flow rates is desirable.
The three-dimensional structure of the non-woven geotextile provides numerous flow paths, with the result that Bidim Green geotextiles allow water to flow at rates which exceed most natural materials it is placed in contact with.
